In the remote tribal regions of Bolangir, Odisha, childhood is under silent attack.
Every day, children face the challenge of hunger and malnutrition. Recognizing this, the government has introduced several programs to address nutrition needs across the country. These initiatives have already reached many, yet some remote villages in forests and hills remain harder to access. Continued efforts in spreading awareness among mothers and improving last-mile delivery are helping ensure that no child is left behind.
According to the POSHAN District Nutrition Profile, the situation in Bolangir district is alarming, with 51.2% of children stunted, 27.5% wasted, and 45.9% underweight. Across Odisha, tribal children under five face equally dire conditions—42.1% are stunted, 22.8% wasted, and nearly 73% anaemic (Odisha Plus, 2022). Among Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), the crisis is even deeper, with 75% underweight, 55% stunted, and 60% wasted (PMC & PubMed, 2024). Districts like Bolangir and Nabarangpur consistently report 37–47% child malnutrition (Prameya News, Wikipedia), painting a stark picture of a silent emergency that robs children of health, learning capacity, and a dignified future.

How Your Support Will Help:
We are raising funds to provide Nutrition Kits to 250 malnourished children across Bolangir.
Cost per child: ₹3,700 (six months of nutrition support)
Each kit will include:
- Nutrient-rich food supplements
- Protein-based mixes for growth
- Regular tracking of child health (weight, MUAC, growth progress)
- Community education sessions for mothers on child feeding, hygiene, and care
